Homemade Organic Skincare Recipes
Posted on May 19th, 2008 No commentsDid you know that you can make your own homemade skin care products and still get great results? If this sounds like something that you are interested in, here are some recipes that you can try. You will find it enjoyable to make them and even more enjoyable to use them, especially after you see what great natural benefits they can bring about.
Moisturizing Cleanser
Whenever you are looking for a great cleanser that can also moisturize your skin, you should opt for plain yogurt. Simply add a little honey to the mixture, then spread it directly onto your face, making sure to avoid your eyes. You will want to leave this on your face for ten minutes before washing it off with water. Once you do this you will most certainly love the way that your skin feels. With this in mind, you should know that this mixture can be used on your skin several times each day but you will need to make sure that you store it in your refrigerator between the times when you are using it.
Facial Cleanser
If you are looking for a great facial cleanser that will both repair and protect your face, then look no further. All you need to do is simply combine one large, peeled aloe vera leaf with one peeled slice of papaya, one tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of plain yogurt. You will need to mix these ingredients together well in your food processor. Once you have done this, simply use a gentle circular motion to apply the mixture to your face. After it is on your face, you will want to use warm water to thoroughly rinse it off.
Facial Mask
For a great facial mask, simply beat two raw eggs, a little water and some honey together in a bowl. You will then want to rub it onto your face and let it dry there for fifteen minutes. Once it has dried, make sure that you wash it off well. It is important to make sure that you keep this mixture away from your eyes and your mouth though since raw eggs contain bacteria that you do not want to digest. Otherwise, this makes for a great way in which you can gently ex foliate your skin.
Now you can clearly see that there really is no need to spend a lot of money just to purchase great organic skincare products. All you need to do is take a look around your kitchen and you will find that you probably already have all of the ingredients that you need. Then, once you give these natural products a try, you may just be totally surprised by how well they really do work.

Are You Ruining Your Skin With Chemicals
By Rose LindyIf you are interested in pure natural skin care you are really doing yourself a favor. I, for one, have found great benefits if using natural skin care. I enjoy using chemical-free products because I know the chemical-free, pure natural skin care will help to restore and protect my skin. My skin is smooth, moist and has a natural glow that I know would not be possible with chemical-based skin products. Did you know that you skin is an organ? In fact it is your body’s largest organ. Your skin is really a warrior that protects you from infection, controls your temperature and keeps out a host of harmful things. Don’t you want to help your skin with this incredibly important job of protecting you? Well you can help it by using only pure natural skin care.
Chemical based skin care products have many synthetic ingredients that can actually weaken your skin. This weakening shows up as allergies, skin irritations, acne or other skin problems. Once you realize that the chemicals used in some skin care products are actually motor oil, petroleum or insecticide by products, you can start to understand why they are so bad for your skin and why you need to stay away from them.
The reason pure natural skin care is so important is because it will nourish and strengthen skin instead of breaking it down like the chemical-based products will do. Natural products work with the body and not against your body. If your skin is not having to fight to do it’s job your will also notice an improvement in your overall health because it will be one less thing your body has to fight.
Did you know that your skin produces and excretes a protective covering? And that these secretions are actually acidic? This acidic cover also help protect your skin by killing off a lot of harmful environmental elements. Using a pure natural skin care regimen actually helps keep the acid mantle healthy and functioning at an optimal level.
One good way to help your skin is to eat well. If you eat healthy whole foods and very few process foods, you will find that your skin does better than if you eat mostly refined, processed foods. Water is another good way to moisturize and lubricate your skin, so make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
Pure natural skin care products will definitely help to keep your skin free of blemishes. You will find that natural skin care products are made with excellent quality botanical oils and ingredients. This helps the skin stay moisturized and healthy to fight off contaminants from the environment.
In conclusion, pure natural skin care is a combination of what you do to help yourself through your diet and also using good products that are not chemically-based.

Skin Care Tips For Men
Posted on May 3rd, 2008 No commentsSkin Care Tips For Men
Historically women have been most aware of proper skin care and have gone out of their way to do whatever it took to maintain a youthful complexion and to keep their skin as healthy as possible. For men, the need to maintain a youthful look was not as strong. Besides, men only grow more distinguished as they grow older, right?
Maybe so, but these days men are becoming more conscious about their looks and the days of neglecting their skin are fast coming to an end. If you’re one of those men who strive to maintain healthy skin and to preserve a more youthful appearance for as long as possible, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some tips to help you along in your quest for a more youthful, healthy appearance.
The first thing you need to know is the type of skin you have. Is your skin dry? Is your skin oily? Is it normal? Knowing the type of skin you have is essential, as there are many products available to men based on skin type. Once you’re aware of your skin type, be sure to watch for products specific to this type.Clean your face on a daily basis. Most people should already do this, but it is essential, since men typically have 15% oilier skin than women do. This means the normal man’s face will get dirtier than a woman’s. A clean face will be a healthy face.
Exfoliate regularly. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells from the faces and helps to promote a more healthy skin tone. Exfoliating daily may not be needed, but a regular exfoliation to clean up any excess dead skin cells is essential. Try to exfoliate at least 2 to 3 times per week for adequate coverage.
Keep your skin toned. Men are typically outside more often than woman. Therefore, they’re also typically exposed more often to environment pollutants and other particles which can cause the skin to lose elasticity over time. Products containing glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids will help the skin retain elasticity and even help to prevent ingrown facial hairs, since these toners are known to decrease pore size.
When shaving, do NOT shave against the grain. Many believe that shaving against the grain helps to ensure a much closer shave than shaving with the grain. There may be truth to this, but shaving against the grain also does serious damage to the skin. The benefits of saving your skin from damage by shaving with the grain far outweigh the benefits of a closer shave.
After shaving, be sure to moisturize. Your skin takes a thrashing every time you shave, so it needs to be treated after each shave to help maintain proper moisture. Try to avoid after shaves with alcohol or heavy fragrances, these chemicals can irritate the skin, doing far more bad than good in many cases.
Avoid exposure to the sun as much as possible. Sunlight is an essential source of vitamin D, so some exposure is needed. However, more people can ingest the proper level of vitamin D within an hour of exposure. Sunlight is also a contributing factor to premature aging of the skin. If you are unable to avoid lengthy exposure to the sun, be sure to protect yourself. Wear clothing that limits your exposure, or invest in a sunscreen with an SPF level of at least 15.
Exercise and diet are also important factors for healthy skin in men. Exercise regularly and eat a diet rich in vitamin C and E to help ensure a more healthy skin tone.
Following these the tips outlined above should give you a solid base for helping your skin retain it’s youthful look into the future.
